Mailbox Products - In-house design team
Innovation drives everything we do
Powered by imagination and creativity Stamford Products design and engineering team. From concept to production.
From concept to production
Have you had a lightbulb moment? If you have had an idea on your mind for ages, bring it to us and we will work with you to make it a reality.
When you first visit the Mailbox Products in-house design and development team, we start by talking through your concept with you and making some initial sketches. It doesn’t matter if you only have a few scribbles on a page or not even that – from the moment you enter our design space, your idea is on its way to becoming a reality.
We generate a solid model and a 3D Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES) file that allows the design to be rotated and viewed from all angles.
Your idea made real
Once the virtual product has been generated, we can produce a first-stage prototype using our 3D printer and work with you to implement any modifications.
As we have our own 3D printer and do not have to outsource the work, this stage of the design process can be done very quickly and gives you a tangible object to examine and evaluate – imagine the excitement of seeing your product grow and develop in front of your eyes!
Material choices, tooling and unit costs, and timescale are all pulled together by the design team for you to evaluate. We then work with trusted partners to manufacture the appropriate tooling. Improvements can also be made if needed.
A perfectly engineered product
An added benefit of working with a company as respected and established as Mailbox
Products is that production can be started by the tooling manufacturers at their own factory. This gives us the opportunity to rectify any preliminary issues before tooling arrives at our facility.

Tooling design
If the project requires special tooling, our team will carry out the analysis, planning, design, construction and application of tools, methods and procedures necessary. We will carefully assess blueprints and iron out potential design flaws before production work begins, ensuring a perfectly engineered product.

Medstor Xtraglide
We worked with our sister company Medstor when it needed to take the functionality and handling of the trays and liners in its specialist medical storage solutions to the next level. This led to the development of the innovative Xtraglide system.
